Tim Dunleavy brought “Maddie’s Corner” – a new charitable project devoted to animals helping people, and people helping animals to my attention and in the true spirit of this holiday season I’d like to pass along the information to all my readers.
Besides being beautiful and gifted with a glorious voice and comic timing, Kristin Chenoweth has a new goal in life – helping homeless animals and promoting responsible pet ownership through “Maddie’s Corner”. Maddie is her adorable pet Maltese. Meeting Maddie has changed Kristin’s life – all for the better.
Focusing on the bond between people and their pets, the trademark of “Maddie’s Corner” will be to include animals in all our activities. Sometimes they’ll be the message and sometimes the messengers.
So take a look www.maddiescorner.org and celebrate the incredible bond between people and their pets.

I’d like to invite you to the staged reading of a new musical that’s based on one you reviewed in 2007, when you saw my “Diet Monologues: The Musical. ” We had lost one of our actors 2 weeks before we opened, and I had to rewrite it (from a book musical about two lovers) into a musical revue. You were very kind in your review, and I thought I should invite you to see the real deal, which is now called “Lighter: the Diet Musical.” It’s December 11th at 3pm at the York! Our music director is Brent-Alan Huffman, who does a lot of work for Alan Mencken (and will be the Music Director for Leap of Faith.) He’s also doing all the arrangements. For a free ticket, reserve through Jeff Landsman, who runs the Developmental Readings series: jlandsman@yorktheatre.org. Love to see you there.
